In this section I would like to present to you a series of hand painted models of Martisoare, as well as the way they are made.

The technique is similar to that of painting icons on glass, in the sense that they are mirror style, painted on the on the backside of the glass.

The first faze of the process is the design of the model, using a very thin pen. Than the Martisor is colored with many layrs of color depending on the model.

After finishing the painting, it is introduced in a hand made beech frame, done by sculpting in wood with a chisel in order for the glass to stay fixed. The wood is than patinated.

According to the tradition, people attach to the Martisor a twisted red-white thread, the symbol of the coming spring.

I invite you to view the models painted by me, insuring you that, as I create other patterns, I will post them on the site.

As in the case of the glass icons, the colors and the lines from the presentation images, can differ from the actual ones, this brings diversity in patterns specific to handmade objects.

Every Martisor is packed individually, in paper bags.
